University of Groningen Modernizes Online Course Evaluations with Blue

The University of Groningen, one of the largest universities in the Netherlands, had been using a homegrown system for online course evaluations for more than a decade. As the system grew more complex, it became harder to manage and less able to work with other systems, prompting the university to look for an off-the-shelf replacement from Explorance.

The university chose Explorance Blue course evaluations because it could handle multiple instructors in a course and integrate with Blackboard Learn. The IT team completed a pilot for two faculties and launched it to 1,875 students in the spring semester, meeting project timelines with no major issues. The university said the Blackboard integration should help raise response rates, and Explorance also agreed to add new reports the university requested.
