UNSW Sydney, the University of New South Wales in Sydney, wanted to improve response rates for student surveys so it could make better-informed decisions from student feedback. The university also needed a way to bring together multiple data sources and streamline surveys for a large institution with more than 59,000 students. It worked with Explorance and the Blue Experience Management platform to support this effort.
Explorance implemented changes to simplify survey forms, automate tasks, and integrate Blue with Moodle so students would see pop-up reminders when they logged in. The university also used Blue to monitor response rates and target low-performing courses, and Blue Text Analytics to review open comments. These changes helped UNSW Sydney increase student survey response rates to over 50%, including 50.4% in Term 1 and 51.6% in Term 2.
