Rio Salado Continues to Lead in Technology for Education

Rio Salado College, based in Tempe, Arizona, serves over 61,000 students annually and offers over 500 courses that can start almost every Monday of the school year. That schedule made course evaluations difficult to manage, especially with no clear start and end dates for each project, so the college needed a more flexible system. It turned to Explorance and Blue course evaluations and Blue surveys.

With Explorance, Rio Salado automated course evaluations from start to finish and integrated the system with its in-house Microsoft SQL Server. The college said forms were shorter, data was cleaner, and it was saving at least 15 to 20 labor hours a week during busy periods. Response rates for evaluations rose to over 10 times what they had been before, and surveys that used to take about six hours were completed in two, with near real-time results that helped drive more survey requests.
