James Cook University Takes Course Survey Analysis to a New Level with Blue

James Cook University, an Australian institution with multiple campuses, needed a better way to run course and instructor evaluations. Its Teaching and Learning Development Unit wanted a unified survey process that could separate course-based and teaching-based feedback, support a multi-campus environment, and provide detailed reporting and analysis.

James Cook University selected Explorance Blue to replace its mix of a home-grown online system and paper-based teacher evaluations. Explorance enabled a phased rollout in 12 months, Blackboard Learn integration, hosted administration, and more detailed reports for staff and administrators. The university said response rates doubled, and in a pilot, 99% of students said they liked the new system.
