Hawaii Pacific University Sees Stellar Response Rates for Course Evaluations

Hawai‘i Pacific University, a university with about 6,700 students and more than 4,000 courses, was managing course evaluations with paper processes and basic online tools. That created months of manual work, inconsistent data, and low response rates for online courses, which were around 20-30 percent.

The university adopted Blue from Explorance to centralize course evaluations, automate reporting, and add an Early Grade View Incentive feature. Explorance helped HPU raise response rates to 75% for on-campus classes and 73% for online courses in fall 2013, while cutting reporting time from 3-6 months to 2 weeks.
