Automating Course Evaluation and Facilitating Data Integration at the University of St.Gallen (HSG)

The University of St.Gallen (HSG), a Swiss university with approximately 9,000 students, needed a new way to manage course evaluations because its paper-based surveys and manual analysis were too time-consuming. It was also looking for better reporting and support for data integration, so it chose Explorance and its Blue People Insight Platform after a successful pilot in 2018.

Explorance automated data collection, analysis, and report distribution across the university, with Blue integrated into the student information system Un.IT and the Canvas LMS. Instructors now receive evaluation reports within 24 hours of five or more student responses being received, follow-up work has decreased, and voluntary evaluations have risen every semester. The university also gained faster reporting for programme managers, in-depth analytics, and the capacity to develop new feedback and evaluation tools.
