Case Study: a largest bank achieves 93% accurate suspicious transaction verification with Expleo’s AI and RPA

A Expleo Case Study

Preview of the Largest Bank Case Study

AI and RPA team up to make more accurate verification of transactions a breeze

Expleo worked with one of the largest banks in South-East Asia to address challenges in its anti-money laundering (AML) processes. The bank faced the manual, time-consuming tasks of consolidating suspicious transaction records (STRs) from branch data, filing reports, and notifying its risk team, which required investigators to spend significant effort on creating memos.

Expleo implemented an automated solution using AI, machine learning, and robotic process automation (RPA). This system consolidated STRs from various branches, generated batch AML reports and memos, and automatically emailed them to the AML Committee. The solution also used predictive analysis to identify patterns and suggest new ones from outliers. The results for the bank included a 93% accuracy rate in identifying suspicious transactions, 24/7 real-time processing, and automated analysis with full interconnectivity between systems.
