Accelerate embedded software development with an MBD approach

a leading European land defence company needed to accelerate its embedded software development and move away from its inefficient, siloed processes. The challenge involved manual, time-consuming coding and a lack of reusable components across projects. Expleo was engaged to help implement a model-based design (MBD) approach using MatLab-Simulink to create a more automated and standardized process.

Expleo deployed a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement the new MBD approach and organizational structure. The solution enabled automatic code generation and created a library of robust, reusable embedded software components. This resulted in savings of approximately €1 million and a gain of 2,300 days for each subsequent feature, while also improving software quality and freeing up senior engineers for higher-value work.
