Malton School, an 11–18 secondary in Malton, North Yorkshire, rolled out a 1:1 iPad for Learning scheme and faced resistance from some staff—most notably Julian Taylor, Head of Music—who found converting carefully designed printed workbooks into an interactive digital format daunting. The school used the Explain Everything app as part of its mobile-technology toolkit alongside support from Academia and trainer James Hannam.

Using Explain Everything, Julian linked OneDrive and Google Drive to convert presentations and workbook files with a few taps, supported by a 7‑week bespoke training programme. Explain Everything’s single-app workflow and cloud integration cut the time teachers spent on file conversion, lowered the learning curve, increased teacher adoption, and produced more engaging, immersive lessons (for example, students receiving shared Explain Everything presentations via AirDrop, OneDrive or Showbie).
