A Explain Everything Case Study
Villa Wewersbusch, a private school near Essen with about 200 iPad‑equipped students, faced the challenge of moving away from traditional textbooks and fully engaging learners. After discovering the Explain Everything app in 2014, the school adopted Explain Everything as a core classroom tool to make students producers of their own material rather than passive consumers.
Explain Everything was rolled out across all classes to enable multimedia student projects (audio, visual, haptic), peer sharing, and teacher feedback. As a result, teachers report higher student engagement, greater creativity and pride, deeper reflection and understanding of topics, and a shift in classroom roles where students teach and assess one another; the school formally abolished traditional school books in 2015 as part of this change.
