Howden Adopts Experlogix CPQ to Improve Customer Experience

Howden Netherlands, a Hengelo-based manufacturer of glass fiber–reinforced polyester industrial cooling fans and part of Chart Industries, needed to modernize its sales systems to handle highly customizable products. Its legacy configurator required coding, relied on spreadsheets, slowed pricing to roughly 30 minutes, and made it hard for customers to understand what they were buying—creating risk of order errors and unrealistic expectations.

Howden implemented Experlogix CPQ integrated with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central plus Experlogix Document Automation, with consultants training engineers to build and maintain the configurator and documents. The solution automated quoting, produced clear customer-facing documentation, eliminated costly specification errors and improved closing rates, and reduced pricing time by 83%; Howden plans to expand CPQ use and add guided selling to further boost efficiency.
