Hands-On Labs (HOL) manufactures LabPaqs—custom science lab kits that let students complete campus-equivalent experiments off-site—and grew rapidly as online education expanded. Because each LabPaq is uniquely configured to an instructor’s syllabus, HOL was relying on Excel spreadsheets, QuickBooks and a basic CRM to build complex, one-off orders, a process that was slow, error-prone and could take up to two days to produce an accurate quote.

HOL replaced its legacy tools with Microsoft Dynamics NAV for ERP and Dynamics CRM for sales, and deployed the Experlogix Product Configurator (integrated via Scribe and an updated e‑commerce front end) to automate its complex rules. The configurator now handles more than 2,500 material-variation rules, cutting time-to-quote from two days to five minutes, improving quote accuracy and traceability, and providing a single, scalable platform to support continued growth.
