A Experity Case Study
Lansing Urgent Care, a physician-owned urgent care with three Michigan locations serving about 185 patients per day, was held back by a slow EMR that didn’t scale with growth and drove up costs and staff inefficiency. In 2009 the clinic switched to Experity’s DocuTAP platform (EMR + Practice Management) to gain paperless charting, customizable templates and order sets, and workflow customization to support expansion.
Experity’s DocuTAP delivered measurable gains: provider charting time dropped from ~6 minutes to 2 minutes (including e‑prescriptions and discharge instructions), average door‑to‑door time fell by 15 minutes to 57 minutes, and a third clinic was provisioned in about one hour. The platform’s auto‑coding, claim scrubbing and e‑submission helped achieve a 92% insurance collections rate within 60 days (70% within 30), reduced paper/storage needs, improved staff morale, and is estimated to have avoided roughly $250,000/year in additional personnel costs.
