The Iowa Clinic, the largest independent physician-owned multispecialty group in Central Iowa, wanted to improve access to care by letting patients self-schedule online instead of calling the clinic. The existing phone-based process was inconvenient for patients and overloaded the call center, which had to manually search provider calendars for appointments. Experian Health provided its Patient Schedule solution to support a white-labeled, branded self-scheduling experience.

With Experian Health’s Patient Schedule, The Iowa Clinic enabled patients to book appointments directly into providers’ calendars in real time from any device, guided by automated scheduling rules and brief screening questions. The results included 15% of all appointments being booked online within the first eight months, a 30% reduction in scheduling calls, at least 8 new patient appointments per provider per month, and a 97% show rate for online-scheduled visits.
