Blessing Health System, an integrated health system made up of hospitals, physician services, nursing and health sciences programs, and related organizations, needed a better way to provide patient estimates. Before working with Experian Health, staff relied on manually updated printouts and spreadsheets from different departments, which led to outdated, inconsistent estimates that did not account for insurance information and often frustrated patients and employees.
Experian Health implemented Patient Estimates, and later Contract Manager, within Blessing Health’s Allscripts workflow to deliver real-time, personalized estimates based on insurance and contract data. The new process made estimates 80% to 90% accurate, increased point-of-service patient collections by 58%, and produced a 1,200% return on investment. After success in the hospital setting, Blessing Health also rolled out Patient Estimates to its physician group.
