Expel eliminates unnecessary alerts and enables product innovation for The Meet Group

The Meet Group, a provider of livestreaming video and creator economy solutions for major social apps, needed a better way to protect its cloud environment and user data without overwhelming its small security operations team. Its legacy MDR provider flooded the team with mostly benign Amazon GuardDuty alerts, forcing engineers to spend hours each day investigating false positives instead of supporting product development. The Meet Group turned to Expel for a cloud-centric MDR approach, looking for stronger detections and better integration with its existing tools.

Expel implemented custom cloud detections, automated triaging, and integrations through Expel Workbench, including Slack, to streamline workflows and reduce noise. As a result, The Meet Group cut alert volume by more than 90%, dropping from six or seven alerts a day to about one per week, and saved 10–15 hours of investigation time per week, about 25% of the team’s working hours. With Expel, The Meet Group also improved visibility, strengthened its cloud security posture, and even saw benefits in cybersecurity insurance and audit readiness.
