Global Aerospace Company, through its Lockheed Martin/Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures joint venture in India, needed a reliable way to move oversized C-130J Super Hercules empennage sections from Hyderabad to Marietta, Georgia. Expeditors was brought in to assess logistics viability for the aircraft tail assemblies and support the program with technical design input, compliance guidance, and route and risk planning.

Expeditors implemented specialized on-site packing and custom-built crates, a double-drop super-low-bed trailer for the tall vertical crate, lift-and-load supervision, and dedicated marine surveyors monitoring the cargo throughout transit. The first ship-set completed a 40-day journey with no issues, and the program went on to ship one set per month, then two per month, with zero defects, delays, or damages reported. In September 2016, Expeditors delivered the 50th empennage to Marietta, demonstrating sustained, high-performance aerospace logistics.
