A Expedient Case Study

Preview of the Dunlap and Kyle Company Case Study

Dunlap and Kyle Company maximizes the uptime and performance of its mission-critical applications with IaaS and DRaaS from Expedient

Dunlap and Kyle Company, Inc., a wholesale and retail tire dealer doing business as Gateway Tire & Service Center with 70 locations, faced vulnerability from a centralized RS/6000-based IT environment and needed a hardware and platform refresh to move to Microsoft Dynamics. After a TCO analysis ruled out building an on‑premises data center, CIO Stuart Hill selected Expedient to provide colocation, Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and managed disaster recovery services to host the new Windows/SQL-based production environment and DR infrastructure.

Expedient migrated Dunlap and Kyle’s entire production environment to its fully managed IaaS, used a second Expedient site for replication and failover (leveraging VMware, DellEMC and Zerto), and implemented a dedicated circuit with a Meraki appliance for VPN failover to all 70 locations. The solution delivered uptime in excess of 99%, simplified disaster recovery with push‑button failover, avoided significant CAPEX and extra hiring, and gave Dunlap and Kyle the scalability and operational expertise to support growth.
