Tier-Two ERP System Helps Food Producer Manage Growth While Saving Money

Monterey Gourmet Foods, Inc. (MGF) is a producer of more than 120 fresh gourmet food products sold in over 9,600 retail and club stores. Facing rapid growth, frequent production changes, complex lot-tracking and customer-specific pricing terms, MGF needed a nimble, low-cost ERP that could handle regulatory lot tracking, frequent batching and acquisitions; the company implemented a Tier-Two ERP system from Expandable Software.

Expandable Software delivered an integrated Expandable ERP solution with backflushing, lot-numbering, robust pricing/revenue recognition and real-time financial integration, plus support for MGF’s custom planning tool and single-click purchase order creation. The result: accurate inventory and faster purchasing, simplified recalls, and the ability to grow (sales topped ~$94M) and absorb acquisitions without migrating to a Tier-One system — while cutting IT overhead so one administrator manages the system in about 20 hours per week and a 40-concurrent-user license supports 110 network users.
