Brakes, a leading supplier to the foodservice sector, faced the challenge of understanding its procurement position amidst volatile food commodity prices. This led to the conception of the Brakes Mintec Price Index (BMPI) and their engagement with vendor Expana.
Expana created over 700 product cost models using data from its Procurement and Category platform to build the BMPI. This solution provided a strong foundation for Brakes' procurement strategy, enabling managers to make informed decisions, target areas for cost savings, and improve competitiveness.
