Cdiscount Picks Smarter, Stores Higher to 5x Throughput and Density

Cdiscount, a French e-commerce leader, and its logistics subsidiary C-Logistics faced the challenge of increasing storage capacity and throughput at its expansive Réau facility near Paris to meet growing demand. To support its strategic growth and manage seasonal volume peaks, the company again partnered with warehouse automation vendor Exotec to implement and extend the Exotec Skypod system.

Exotec implemented its Skypod robotics solution, which uses robots to bring bins to human operators. This system increased order picking performance and storage density by five times. A key result was the swift expansion in 2023 from 48,000 to over 60,000 bins with minimal operational interruption. The flexibility to quickly add rented robots during peak periods allowed C-Logistics to efficiently navigate high-volume events, demonstrating the significant impact of the Exotec solution.
