Auchan Luxembourg transforms drive and e-commerce order preparation

Auchan Luxembourg, a major retailer with seven stores including three hypermarkets, faced challenges in managing the rapid expansion of its e-commerce and drive-through order fulfillment from its Dudelange warehouse. The company needed to automate its operations to densify storage, rationalize order preparation, and reduce the physical strain on its employees. In partnership with Exotec, it implemented the Skypod system as a turnkey solution to overhaul its logistics processes.

Exotec's solution utilized 37 robots working with over 30,000 bins across three picking stations, capable of handling up to 915 bins per hour. This automation significantly improved performance and order accuracy while eliminating repetitive manual tasks for employees, thereby improving their working conditions. The flexible, scalable system from Exotec also optimized storage space and streamlined the management of customer returns for Auchan Luxembourg.
