Designing a Modern Fitness Space for the Workplace

DTE Energy sought a modern approach to employee wellness to make its benefits more competitive and move the company into the top 10 percent of its industry. To redesign a fitness space that hadn’t been updated since the 1920s, DTE Energy hired Exos to design and manage a modern, workplace fitness center and related wellness programming.

Exos delivered a full-service solution—architecture and design, equipment specification and installation, staffing and training, program development and management, plus branding, signage and membership systems—creating dedicated zones for strength, cardio, group training and health/wellness. As a result of Exos’ work, on-site membership rose from 750 to 1,073 in the first year and the center averaged 3,404 monthly visits, reflecting higher engagement and utilization.
