A eXo Platform Case Study
UCLA, charged with building the National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN), needed a globally accessible social e-learning platform to train military and civilian health professionals. After evaluating market options, UCLA selected eXo Platform to deliver a customizable, interactive social learning environment—integrating eXo Platform’s social features with Moodle for course delivery—to host communities, courses, and collaborative tools for clinicians working on military bases worldwide.
eXo Platform implemented a rebranded social and collaborative system with Spaces for communities, forums and wikis for knowledge capture, chat and calendars for live events, and a Moodle-powered “Courses” area. After about one year of work plus a six-month pilot, the platform now supports roughly 3,000 professionals, hosts dozens of integrated courses, and provides on‑demand, equal access to training across global sites—improving collaboration and workforce development for NCTSN affiliates.
