The French National Gendarmerie collaborative social network facilitates the daily work of 100,000 gendarmes

The National Gendarmerie, through its Direction Générale de la Gendarmerie Nationale (DGGN) Digital Mission, needed a way to fluidify exchanges and share documents across 100,000 gendarmes dispersed throughout metropolitan France, the DOM‑TOM and some thirty countries. To replace slow, fragmented email and phone workflows the Gendarmerie launched the RESOgend Enterprise Social Network (ESN) and selected eXo Platform to provide a secure, mobile‑friendly collaborative solution.

eXo Platform implemented RESOgend using standard eXo Platform features—document sharing, instant messaging, shared calendars, task management and real‑time notifications—deployed in the Gendarmerie’s private data centres and integrated with internal authentication. Backed by training through Gendform and an eXo scalability audit, the solution enabled 24/7 collaboration for 100,000 users (with nearly 65,000 mobile terminals), accelerated information flow, reduced travel and duplication, and achieved rapid adoption as a flagship digital transformation.
