Secure collaboration portals for employees and clients, supporting millions of users

CAIXA, Brazil’s federally owned bank serving some 20,000 employees and millions of retail customers, needed a single, secure intranet to integrate BPM Insight, ERP and more than 10 business applications, plus multiple extranets for clients to access accounts and apply for credit. To meet strict performance and security requirements (including passing charge tests for 14 million users), CAIXA selected eXo Platform’s open-source portal solution.

eXo Platform implemented the project in two phases (POC/validation and pre-production/production) working with SI partner 4Linux to integrate applications, deliver timely quarterly releases, and transfer skills to CAIXA’s team. The result: more than 10 production portals in use (serving 20,000 employees), immediate improvements in collaboration and client management, prevention of a sensitive extranet breach, and high-volume engagement such as the Feirão portal’s 2 million page visits per month.
