NCTSN implements a social e-learning platform for worldwide education of health specialists

The National Child Traumatic Stress Network (NCTSN) needed a globally accessible social learning platform to train military and civilian health professionals who support service members, veterans and their families. NCTSN selected eXo Platform to provide a customizable, secure web-based system that could integrate third-party e-learning tools (notably Moodle) and support online communities, content management and collaboration across military bases.

eXo Platform implemented a user-oriented social e-learning solution—rebranding the UI, integrating Moodle under a “courses” menu, and adding spaces, forums, wikis, chat, calendars, blogs and a learner directory—so users can browse courses, take lessons/tests for certification and share best practices. After a year of development and a six-month pilot, dozens of courses were integrated to support approximately 3,000 professionals nationwide, improving access to mental-health training and fostering collaboration across the NCTSN network.
