CSEM, the Swiss Center for Electronics and Microtechnology, struggled with disconnected teams and an overreliance on email that hindered real-time communication, knowledge sharing and community building. To address this, CSEM chose eXo Platform as a simple, holistic digital workplace to centralize communications, streamline collaboration and provide social content-management features across the organisation.
eXo Platform was deployed in 2017 and, with support from eXo Platform consultants using analytics, change-management workshops and gamification/recognition add‑ons, helped drive adoption to about 400 engaged users. The solution enabled document management, knowledge sharing, cross-team collaboration and a virtual newsroom; CSEM recorded an increase in spaces created and higher engagement metrics (likes, comments and shares), richer document libraries with controlled permissions, and stronger community and corporate identity.
