R&R Ice Cream, Europe’s largest take-home ice cream manufacturer with plants across the UK, Germany, France and Poland, was struggling with bandwidth congestion after linking multiple sites via a small MPLS network. Employees faced long wait times for web apps and file copies, poor VoIP quality, and IT lacked visibility to identify and prioritize business-critical traffic.

R&R deployed Exinda Edge appliances and the SLA Performance Dashboard to profile users and applications and enforce dynamic policies that prioritized VoIP and ERP while restricting social, IM and P2P traffic. Centrally managed via Exinda SDP, the solution improved application responsiveness and call quality, reduced web and file-sharing traffic by about 40%, cut weekly support calls by roughly 10–15, and accelerated directory and update replication across the WAN.
