Illinois Central College (ICC), a multi‑campus community college serving thousands of students and about 1,000 faculty and staff across four locations, struggled to deliver consistent access to cloud‑based classroom tools, video content and online testing during peak hours. With growing multimedia needs and no traffic management in place, IT needed real‑time visibility and a way to prioritize bandwidth to ensure a reliable online experience for students, faculty and campus housing residents.
After evaluating options, ICC deployed Exinda (7700 series) to monitor traffic in real time and create optimization policies for critical applications, classrooms and user groups. A second appliance provided campus‑wide coverage and a unified view of Internet use, enabling IT to throttle non‑essential P2P traffic, receive proactive alerts, troubleshoot faster and reliably prioritize bandwidth—maximizing the college’s Internet investment and improving user experience.
