A Exinda Case Study
BlumShapiro, New England’s largest regional accounting and consulting firm, struggled with saturated WAN links between its West Hartford headquarters (200 employees) and smaller Shelton (75) and Rockland (25) offices. Constant 100% utilization on 40–50 Mbps WAN circuits and limited visibility left voice, video, file transfers, backups and SAN replication performing poorly and threatened a costly bandwidth upgrade.
BlumShapiro deployed Exinda appliances (8860 at West Hartford and Shelton, 4861 at Rockland) to gain full traffic visibility, apply policy-based controls and optimize WAN usage. The solution revealed problem traffic, allowed on-the-fly filtering, cut iSCSI replication time by 60%, restored voice/video quality, sped backups, and eliminated the immediate need for additional bandwidth.
