RG Barry Accessorizes with Simparel ERP

RG Barry, long known for its Dearfoams slippers, redefined itself in 2011 as a multi-brand accessory company through acquisitions like baggallini, Foot Petals and KIVA. Rapid growth and a shift from manufacturing to global sourcing exposed limits in its decades-old, mainframe ERP—slow backups and upgrades, inflexible reporting, and uncertain capacity that threatened to choke future expansion.

After a formal vendor review, RG Barry selected Simparel and replaced several legacy systems (PLM, purchasing, sourcing, EDI, etc.) in a 13-month rollout with two major conversions. The cutover went smoothly—“shipped on Day One”—and delivered a modern GUI, real-time synced data, easier reporting, dramatic IT simplification (development staff cut from 20 to 3) and much faster upgrades, giving the company a scalable platform to support further brand growth.
