A Exenta Case Study
Propper International, a longtime supplier of apparel and gear to the U.S. military with multiple plants in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and Haiti, was facing a plateau in plant efficiency. Manual processes — fingerprint time clocks that caused lines, gum-sheet and bundle-ticket tracking, and hours of post-shift payroll data entry — created daily unproductive time and left managers looking at production information two to three days after the fact.
Propper deployed Exenta’s wireless Shop Floor Control across its Puerto Rico plants (about 850 tablets plus wall monitors), enabling QR badge clock-ins, bundle scanning, workstation access to instructions, and real-time dashboards tied to the ERP. The change eliminated much of the paperwork and waiting, gave operators and supervisors instant visibility and off-standard handling at the workstation, and delivered double-digit gains (about a 15% average efficiency increase for sewing operators); Propper is now rolling the system out to its other factories.
