A Exelysis Case Study
International Holding Group, an experienced Greek conglomerate responsible for constructing and operating the 205 km Korinthos–Tripoli–Kalamata motorway and Lefktro–Sparti branch, needed a unified, IP‑based telecommunication platform to support Emergency Telephony, tunnel PA, toll intercoms, PBXs, monitoring/alarming and a Motorway Management Center under strict legal, environmental and availability constraints. Exelysis was invited to propose a solution after demonstrating broader capabilities than the initial emergency‑telephony RFPs, with requirements including autonomous tunnel operation, long‑distance analogue‑to‑IP conversion, prioritized emergency short‑code handling with 5‑year recordings, SCADA/MMS integration and multi‑level redundancy/DR.
Exelysis implemented Exelysis UCS, Exelysis Contact Center and the Exelysis Monitoring and Alarming Platform—deploying two UCS nodes (Tripoli and Kalamata) as primary/DR, Exelysis Media Gateways at tunnels and tolls, IP intercoms and panic buttons at booths, smart analogue ERTs with sensor monitoring, and SCADA/MMS integration plus alternate landline/mobile routing. The Exelysis solution unified all subsystems across the 205 km motorway, enabled automated call routing and prioritized emergency handling with five‑year call retention, improved fault detection and repair times (reducing maintenance costs), delivered regulatory compliance and increased safety for drivers and staff.
