Software Upgrade Brings New Functionality To Naim Audio

Naim, a Salisbury‑based designer and manufacturer of premium music systems with about 170 employees, faced aging IT infrastructure and an out‑of‑date ERP setup. As a long‑time user of EFACS E/8, Naim wanted to upgrade to the latest EFACS E/8 release, move to VMware virtualisation and newer Microsoft SQL/Windows Server platforms, and replace a patchwork of bespoke tools with native customisations and workflow capability. Exel Computer Systems plc was engaged to deliver the upgrade and modernisation.

Exel Computer Systems plc provided project management, development, training and technical support—copying the live database, testing upgrade scripts, building custom reports, screens and workflows, and moving EFACS into a virtual environment during the 2013 shutdown. The result was improved scalability, redundancy and disaster recovery, built‑in reporting (SSRS) and KPI dashboards for production, automated workflows (quality alerts, global Mu‑so serial tracking and XML‑triggered sales orders), and a company‑wide increase in EFACS users—enabling the business to scale and support growth.
