PFF Packaging Group, one of the UK’s largest independent food packaging manufacturers, faced growth constraints because legacy systems and extensive spreadsheets did not provide the real‑time visibility needed for stock control, customer delivery and flexible production planning. After evaluating options, PFF selected Exel Computer Systems plc and its EFACS E/8 ERP system to replace disparate processes and support faster responses to seasonal supermarket demand.

Exel Computer Systems plc implemented and customised EFACS E/8 (including enhancements to the quotations module, batch control, workflow toolsets and integration with Microsoft Power BI and third‑party Visual Planning), rolling out at Keighley and then PFF Packaging North East with groupwide go‑live completed in March 2019. The solution delivered real‑time visibility, cut traceability queries from days to minutes, improved stock and finished‑goods control, streamlined warehouse receipts/deliveries, and enabled better machine‑level planning and scheduling that drove measurable manufacturing efficiencies and improved customer service.
