Linecross Partners is a full-service supplier of engineered polymer solutions specialising in low-volume, high-mix production (vacuum thermoforming and polyurethane moulding). The business faced extreme product variety (≈800 parts), highly variable and short-notice customer orders, bulky finished goods and tool storage issues, irregular raw-material availabilities, and a legacy DOS manufacturing system that was not integrated with Sage accounts. To modernise planning, control and reporting, Linecross chose Exel Computer Systems plc and its EFACS E/8 ERP solution.

Exel Computer Systems plc delivered a phased EFACS E/8 implementation—data cleansing and migration, Sage integration, MRP, quality control, document management, bespoke reporting, training and cutover support—which went live in October 2006. The MRP now gives accurate ordering and lead-time visibility (saving several days per week through imported customer schedules), unified accounting and manufacturing data (cutting days from management-account preparation and reconciliation), reduced non-conformities and helped achieve ISO/TS 16949 via EFACS quality workflows, and opened SQL-accessible reporting; Linecross is continuing to work with Exel on Shop Floor Data Capture and KPI dashboards.
