Komfort Partitioning Ltd, a UK designer and manufacturer of internal glazed and solid partition systems, faced the urgent challenge of separating its EFACS E/8 ERP instance from a nine-company installation after its parent group entered administration and Komfort was sold to private equity. The company needed not only stability—moving servers and closing down multi-company ledgers—but also a tailored ERP that would support CRM, mobile working for sales and delivery drivers, and extensive workflow automation. Exel Computer Systems plc, the vendor of EFACS E/8, was engaged to deliver and extend the ERP platform.

Exel Computer Systems plc separated and rebuilt Komfort’s single-company instance of EFACS E/8, using Exel’s customisation toolsets and modules (including Exel’s CRM, Project Control and Contract Control) and deploying a mobile CRM in late 2018. The solution went live in April 2017 and delivered faster, richer management reporting (via Power BI), mobile order capture and signature capture (via PowerApps), and automated dispatch and invoicing through EFACS workflows; within months of the CRM go‑live Komfort identified eight priority extensions. The result is a streamlined, hybrid on‑premises/cloud ERP tightly tailored to Komfort’s processes, replacing offline spreadsheets and improving automation, mobility and operational responsiveness.
