Doncasters Blaenavon, part of the Doncasters Group, is a precision manufacturer of rings, casings and blades that works entirely on a manufacture‑to‑blueprint basis. Facing extreme product variability, long supplier lead times and poor plant‑floor visibility — and previously relying on a limited standalone database and bespoke systems across sites — the company needed a complete business management solution. Doncasters Blaenavon selected EFACS from Exel Computer Systems plc to provide joined‑up planning, manufacturing, buying, accounts and reporting.

Exel Computer Systems plc implemented EFACS across the business with role‑based training and strong on‑site support, standardising processes and enabling real‑time visibility and self‑service reporting via ODBC. The system significantly reduced reporting time, gave managers immediate business intelligence, and supported a Theory of Constraints approach aimed at achieving 95% On Time In Full (OTIF), improving throughput, scheduling and cross‑site reporting consistency.
