Diam Group, a designer and manufacturer of point‑of‑sale displays within the 3,200‑employee DIAM International group, found its legacy Sage Line 500 ERP, bespoke SQL tools and Excel workarounds could no longer support its fast‑paced, project‑based business. Facing unsupported database platforms, fragmented data and heavy manual processes, Diam Group selected Exel Computer Systems plc and its EFACS E/8 ERP in 2017 to replace the old systems and better handle complex multi‑contract, multi‑work‑order operations.

Exel Computer Systems plc implemented EFACS E/8 with ADAPT customisations, Exel‑developed workflows and a “CloudWIP” virtual warehouse to mirror Diam Group’s allocation/de‑allocation logic; the system went live in August 2018. The result for Diam Group was centralized project control and planning, automation of many manual tasks, more accurate allocations and picking, reduced processing complexity for large numbers of works orders, measurable productivity gains, lower operational risk, improved management information and a clear return on investment.
