Dale Power Solutions, a Scarborough-based maker of generators and UPS systems, had been operating multiple limited-function applications and a basic field-service deployment of EFACS E/8 from Exel Computer Systems plc. With a target to grow its service business from about 30% to 50% of turnover, the company faced fragmented processes, manual spreadsheets and poor engineer scheduling that prevented full use of the system.

Exel Computer Systems plc performed a gap analysis, supplied consultancy (including a 10-day on-site engagement), delivered EFACS E/8 enhancements and new releases, and helped implement mobile electronic forms and customisations via the Customisation Toolkit. The combined changes—new reports, streamlined workflows and improved mobile field capture—boosted automation and reporting, improved purchasing and stock replenishment, and helped drive a £10m (≈40%) increase in turnover to £35m over three years while achieving about 75% of the project goals quickly.
