Bioquell, a Hampshire-based manufacturer and servicer of environmental filtration and infection control systems for the Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences and Healthcare markets, has been an Exel Computer Systems plc customer since 1995 using the EFACS E/8 system. Facing the need for greater efficiency, tighter integration and modern reporting, Bioquell elected to upgrade to EFACS E/8 version 8.6.1 to remove legacy customisations, replace stand‑alone third‑party shopfloor data capture and eliminate numerous bolt‑on spreadsheets.

Exel Computer Systems plc implemented the EFACS E/8 v8.6.1 upgrade (decision in Jan 2018, go‑live Oct 2018) and deployed barcode‑based shopfloor data capture with handheld scanners plus Power BI and BIRT dashboards. The solution returned Bioquell to the standard EFACS platform, removed double data‑entry and third‑party collectors, and delivered real‑time visibility of works orders and more granular exception reporting—providing a single version of the truth, reduced administrative effort and an improved manufacturing and field‑service integration.
