ASD Lighting PLC, a commercial lighting systems designer and manufacturer, was using Exel Computer Systems plc’s EFACS E/8 ERP system but by 2019 its version had become dated and lacked newer functionality. The company wanted better productivity, easier mobile working, and improved reporting across its back office, factory floor, and field sales teams.

Exel Computer Systems plc implemented the latest EFACS E/8 with touchscreen shopfloor data capture, Android-based mobile CRM, paperless works order picking, and built-in Microsoft Power BI reporting. The upgrade went live in March 2020 and delivered strong results: mobile CRM adoption increased, around 20 regular reports were created for use across the business, and shopfloor picking became significantly more efficient, especially through group-picking for multiple works orders.
