A Exel Computer Systems plc Case Study
Advanex Europe Ltd (Advanex), the European HQ of a global precision engineering group, faced fragmented IT and paper-based processes across sites that undermined scheduling, traceability, costing and shop-floor communication. With bespoke, make-to-order manufacturing and strict industry requirements, Advanex needed a single ERP to deliver accurate available-to-promise dates, workstation-level “work to” lists, real-time job recording and automatic cost build-ups.
Exel Computer Systems plc implemented the EFACS E/8 ERP system, going live at Southwell in 2006 and at Bilborough in 2012, and introduced barcoding and touchscreen shop-floor updates. As a result, due-date performance now regularly exceeds 95%, a progress-chasing team was disbanded, quality certificates that once took 30+ minutes can be printed in under a minute, accounting periods close faster, and job costing is automated with raw material, landed costs and overheads rolled up for accurate costing.
