A Excellarate Case Study
Quickoffice, the worldwide leader in mobile office solutions later acquired by Google, needed a way to read and write Microsoft Office files reliably across mobile and desktop environments. Excellarate developed Java APIs for MS Office file formats, supporting Office 2007 OOXML and later extending the library to Office 2003 binary documents.
Excellarate delivered a high-performance, fault-tolerant Java document processing engine that worked across Java platforms, including Android, and served as the basis for Quickoffice’s Office products. The team also automated QA for document collection, screenshot comparison, and reporting, helping ensure quality at scale and enabling broad porting of the library to C++ with minimal supervision.
