YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish, a major nonprofit organization, was facing challenges with its data protection strategy. Their previous solution, a Drobo NAS device with Windows backup, lacked deduplication and led to space constraints that forced them to only back up critical servers. They sought a new solution that could add data deduplication and improve reliability, ultimately choosing a combined system from vendor ExaGrid using its disk-based backup storage alongside Veeam software.

ExaGrid's solution provided fast, reliable backups and maximized storage capacity through its adaptive deduplication working in concert with Veeam. This allowed YWCA to back up nearly all of its servers, not just the critical ones, while maintaining its retention period. The results included consistent backup performance, easy and reliable restores, and the added security of replicating data to AWS for disaster recovery. The IT staff reported having less worry and more confidence in their data protection with the ExaGrid system.
