Toyota de Puerto Rico, the island’s distributor for Toyota, Lexus and Scion, was modernizing its server and storage infrastructure and saw exponential growth in backup data. Their weekend full backups routinely stretched to 44 hours—often still running on Monday—and restores from offsite tapes could take days, leaving the IT team and business units frustrated and at risk.

TdPR deployed an ExaGrid disk-based backup system alongside Symantec Backup Exec, cutting the full backup window from 44 to under 8 hours (an 82% reduction) and differential backups to about 4 hours. The solution delivered near 7:1 deduplication, almost 100% weekend backup completion, and reduced restores from days to minutes, while providing strong price/performance and seamless integration with their existing backup software.
