Thomas Langley Medical Center Cures Backup Problems with ExaGrid’s Disk Backup with Deduplication Solution

Thomas E. Langley Medical Center (TELMC) is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center in Sumterville, Florida, offering comprehensive primary care services. The IT team was struggling with manual, labor‑intensive backups stored on the same SAN as production systems, causing long backup windows, unreliable nightly jobs and disaster‑recovery risk—backup jobs routinely ran past the window, totaling nearly 19 hours.

TELMC implemented an ExaGrid disk‑based backup system with byte‑level deduplication alongside Symantec Backup Exec, delivering faster, automated disk backups and quick restores. The change cut backup times from about 19 hours to four hours, reduced stored data roughly to a third through deduplication, enabled daily full backups, simplified administration, and provided scalable, reliable off‑SAN protection for improved disaster recovery.
