The Sigma Group, a digital services company and managed service provider based in France, faced challenges with its backup and disaster recovery processes. Their previous setup using direct-attached storage with Veeam made replication complex to manage. To enhance data protection and meet their service level agreements, they partnered with vendor ExaGrid for a tiered backup storage solution.

ExaGrid implemented its scale-out storage system with a disk-cache Landing Zone, which integrated with The Sigma Group's Veeam backup application. This solution cut the company's backup windows in half and provided fast restores through Instant VM Recovery. The ExaGrid system also simplified replication to a remote data center and offered scalable capacity, easily growing to 14 appliances to protect 650TB of customer data while ensuring stable performance as data grew.
