FutureCare Health and Management, which operates 12 skilled nursing and rehab centers in the Baltimore–Washington area, struggled with long, unreliable nightly backups spread across tapes and scattered hard drives. Space constraints and frequent failures meant backup jobs ran almost continuously and consumed significant IT time, prompting the search for a more unified, scalable solution.

FutureCare deployed a two‑site ExaGrid disk-based backup system (integrated with Symantec Backup Exec) and later added appliances via ExaGrid’s GRID architecture. The solution delivered zone-level deduplication and fast disk-based backups with nightly offsite replication, dramatically speeding restores, reducing storage and WAN use, and cutting backup management and troubleshooting time by roughly ten hours per week—backed by dedicated ExaGrid support.
